Russia to Test Missile off the Coast of California Today

Airspace over a swath of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Baja California is being closed for the next 10 days because of the re-entry of a “Russian space launch booster,” two U.S. defense officials told The War Zone.

“It is not for a launch or a military exercise,” the officials said, dispelling concerns circulating on social media that the Russians were about to conduct a military exercise close to the U.S. mainland.

Those concerns spread after the Defense Internet NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) Service (DINS) posted a NOTAM on May 13 advising pilots to avoid the listed area between May 16 and May 26 “for Russian Federation impact area by at least 50 nautical miles.”

“This notice is for all aircraft transiting from Hawaii to North America and North America to Hawaii. The following restrictions are due to Russian Federation rocket firing impact area,” the NOTAM read, perhaps sparking confusion.

“The temporary routes described…are for all aircraft equipped with RNP-10 navigations systems or better,” the NOTAM stated.

The U.S. defense officials did not know which Russian rocket booster was involved. However, the Russian Defense Ministry on Friday said a “Soyuz 2.1b launch vehicle with spacecraft on board was launched in the interests of the Russian Defense Ministry from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome (the Arkhangelsk Region) on May 17, 2024,” according to Russian media outlets. Still, we don’t know if this latest launch is what sparked the NOTAM and are working to find out more details.

It is not surprising that this notice brought high-interest, given that there was no official word put out about why it was issued and it comes at a time of extreme tensions with Russia. In recent years, Russians have conducted several military operations in the Pacific near Alaska and Hawaii, including the surfacing of the guided-missile submarine Omsk in the Bering Sea off Alaska in August 2021.

In addition, the warning takes place in a section of the Pacific Ocean known collectively as the SOCAL range complex that regularly hosts military exercises, among other sensitive military tests and large-scale training events. The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and other Navy ships are operating in the same general area off the coast of Baja doing workups for deployment.

“Abraham Lincoln, flagship of Carrier Strike Group Three, is underway conducting integrated exercises to bolster strike group readiness and capability in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations,” the Navy said on a Pentagon image sharing website.

So as it sits right now, a wayward booster hurtling back to earth is what mariners and aviators in this large area off Southern California need to be concerned with, not a Russia missile firing exercise.

Update 2:54 PM –

The NOTAM in question was removed from the DINS site after this story posted, something which was pointed out to us by Henry Wade, founder of the SanDiegoVille.com website. We don’t know the circumstances surrounding its removal, but it isn’t uncommon for these types of notices to be removed if there is no longer a threat to the area defined in them.

 

What Putin does not get is that our wonderful Neocons care nothing about the country, the people, and certainly not the economy. The Climate Change zealots in the White House agree with them and think reducing the population may be the only way to reach their NET ZERO target for CO2. He keeps warning – is this what you really want? They do not back down and want war so bad they can taste it in their sleep.

The first week of June in a Panic Cycle and the climate change nuts are punching for restrictions on travel this summer and the date is June 6th is what they are shooting for. They want to curtain your summer vacation this year to reduce CO2. If they can throw in war – fantastic! The only question they indeed to ask after World War III – Did we get enough of them to save the planet?

    Does the Bible predict there will be a World War 3 (III, three) before the end times?

    The Bible clearly speaks of wars that will take place in the end times. In Matthew 24:6-7 Jesus said, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” These wars include not only conflicts that happen today but those that will take place during the seven-year tribulation following the rapture.

    In Revelation 6, a vision of events during the tribulation, much war is mentioned. The first horse is a conqueror who goes to war (v. 2). The second horse is a red horse that causes people to slay one another (v. 4). The beast will make war (Revelation 11:7; 13:7), war is referred to in heaven (Revelation 12:7), the dragon makes war with a woman and her offspring (Revelation 12:17).

    In addition to war in general during the end times, Ezekiel 38 speaks of a gathering of nations that will come together in war against Israel. Verses 8-9 note, “In the latter years you will go against the land that is restored from war, the land whose people were gathered from many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which had been a continual waste. Its people were brought out from the peoples and now dwell securely, all of them. You will advance, coming on like a storm. You will be like a cloud covering the land, you and all your hordes, and many peoples with you.” In this war, Israel will be supernaturally rescued by the Lord.

    A final war will also take place at the end of the tribulation that is usually called the battle of Armageddon (Revelation 17:14; 19:11-21). At the conclusion of this battle led by Christ Himself, Jesus will begin His millennial kingdom that involves a 1,000-year reign.

    This time period will be concluded with one final battle in which “Satan will be released from his prison and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea” (Revelation 20:7-8). They will be defeated by fire from heaven followed by the final judgment, a new heavens, and a new earth.

    As can be seen, the end times will be marked by much war and conflict. However, there is nothing specifically mentioned in the Bible about a particular number of wars or a specific World War III. These names are human labels given to global conflicts that have involved numerous nations and people. Instead, the Bible predicts wars that will ultimately be larger in scale than any war currently known that will precede the coming and reign of Jesus Christ.
